I'd encourage you to look into hand-poured silver, especially from the site sponsor Smithy's Bullion. Just a word of caution, once you start you'll be hooked and never look at generic bullion the same.

Have to agree with STKR wholeheartedly. I've accumulated a few of Smithys items over the years and they are some of my favourites.

Vintage Early 1950s English Tinplate wind-up toy. It is in above average condition for a 70+ year old tinplate toy! Swap for 2oz 999 silver or $135 posted.

On offer is a post-war Shutter Van made by Tri-ang as part of the Minic vehicles range, model number 103M

This model is coloured red and has the words "Minic transport. Road, rail, air and sea. Express service" out in bold, it also has a working rear door, and has black tyres. It has a wind up mechanism which has not been tested due to no key. Keys can be bought online.

I have seen bit's a pieces before about the collectability of Tin Plate toys from the era before electronics went into toys.

Not my interest, but thanks for posting an interesting toy.

I use to have a few of these in my childhood, and the mainspring use to break many a time on the cheap ones in the windup mechanism because of overwinding or the lighter springs they had in them. It looks like a very nice tin as its got bugger all wear on the gogs and the tyres are crisp with no wear on the joints. Very nice piece oz. But I'm too old now for those now.
